Record Books of the Lublin Region from the Turn of the 18th and 19th Centuries

Ministry of Education and Science, as part of the “National Programme for the Development of the Humanities”, Module: National Heritage, Universals 2.2, Foundations, co-funded the following research project:

The basic limitation in this respect is still the lack of knowledge about the preserved archives and difficult access to them. Two groups have a particular need for the use of record books. First, professional historians, aware of the wealth of information collected there and the cognitive possibilities offered by them, second, researchers interested in the history of “small homelands”. The desire to satisfy curiosity goes hand in hand with the search for answers to the question of one’s identity, a particularly important question in the dynamic, atomized modern world. This type of activity is an effective form of participation in cultural life, triggers interest in national history, and allows the cultivation of traditional values.
